Emirates Driving License

This post will drive you through almost all process to get driving license from Abu Dhabi .

In Abu Dhabi there is only one driving school which is in Mussafah almost 20 km far from city , you can reach there with multiple options 

1-By bus 116 but it goes with one hour duration, you can catch it from morror road

2-By sharing taxi from different bus stops you will see people calling mussafah, they charge 10-20 AED 

3-By ingage taxi and it will charge as per company rate and little expensive

4-With your friends or relatives first time at least.

There are some process to get the license , i will highlight all main points below:

OPEN A DRIVING FILE:

To open a driving file you have to go Mussafah Police Station which is in back side of driving school but 10-15 mints walk.
EMIRATES DRIVING SCHOOL AND MUSSAFAH POLICE STATION:

Required Documents:

• UAE Nationals 
  
• Copy of the valid Passport or Emirates ID.
• Copy of the Family book.
• One Personal photo.
• Original Eye test.
• Original No objection certificate from the guardian for the ladies who are in the family book of their fathers or husbands or those who are under the age of 21.
• GCC Nationals 
  
• Valid copy of the Passport or Emirates ID.
• Copy of the Family book.
• One Personal photo.
• Original Eye test.
• Original No objection certificate from the guardian for the ladies who are in the family book of their fathers or husbands or those who are under the age of 21.
• Expatriates 
  
• Valid copy of the Passport or Emirates ID.
• valid Copy of the Residency visa.
• Original Eye test.
• One Personal photo.
• Original Letter from the employer (in case of general sponsorship).
• Original No objection letter from the sponsor (in case of special sponsorship).

There will be an eye test to open a file and charges will be AED 20.

File opening charges AED 100.

After some struggle you will get a temporary card which means  your file has been opened then you can bring it to driving school for further process.

Come to driving school.

THEORY CLASES:

Now you have to get registered in theory classes even if you have license from home country

You have to take 8 classes and Charges will be AED 850  for all classes , you can pay extra for urgent booking. 

When you take all classes go to the counter for booking theory exam .

please get prepare for theory exam and come early otherwise invigilator wont allow you to sit in the class room after 5 mint .

7-Lesson Seven: Vehicle Knowledge

8-Lesson Eight: Safety Hall

Note: You will get result within 1 hour you have to wait in hall.

If you fail in theory exam then you have to enrolled again but they will exempt some classes on the basis of wrong questions in particular chapters.

Hurray!!!

You are passed then go to main reception for enrolment in practical training.
charges will be 2000 to 2400 AED

ONE TRIAL IF YOU OWN YOUR COUNTRY LICENSE:

Luckily if you have home country license  then you can try your luck to take test on road but first you need to clear theory exam but no need to get registered in practical training .

Its better to do some practice before going for road exam. You can hire trainers from outside of the driving school and they will charge 60 to 70 AED per hour for automatic and manual both.

Please bring your card which you got after opening file and your exam date sheet.

For exam all candidates will be in one coaster and one by one each driver will drive the car , ,there will be two invigilators one on front and other one on back.

If you fail in first trial on the basis of home country license then you need to get registered in practical training

If you pass first trial exam they will keep your card  it means you are free now you will get license .
